The Musicorp and Remo drum circles will give the general public a chance to become actively engaged in the music festival. Two separate drum circle sessions will be held, one on Friday, September 21st at 11:00am, exclusively for Charleston middle-school students, and a larger one on Saturday September 22nd at 2:15pm that will be open to the general public. A limited number of hand drums will be given away to participants as souvenirs to commemorate their experience.

In support of VH1 Save the Music Foundation, Musicorp will also donate a Sierra acoustic guitar, an Arbor electric guitar, a Barcus-Berry acoustic-electric violin and a Percussion-Plus 5-piece drum set to be raffled off at Chazzfest. Performing artists will autograph the instruments, which will be on display in a Musicorp booth during the Saturday event. Raffle tickets will be sold in the booth, and winners will be announced at the center court stage immediately before Branford Marsalis takes the stage!

VH1 Save the Music Foundation has provided more than $34 million worth of new musical instruments since 1997 to over 1,400 schools in 80 communities, affecting the lives of more than 800,000 public school children.

“Musicorp is proud to support the initiatives of VH1 Save the Music and the South Carolina musical community,” said Daniel Mahoney, President of Musicorp. “Maintaining music education in America’s public schools is extremely important to Musicorp. By partnering with local fundraising events and urging the public’s involvement in music, we’re happy to be able to contribute to this cause.”
